  I bought my car to S&I Waverley a good few months ago to get a pink slip done a hurry as my rego was about to run out. I booked the inspection in for the morning and was told to leave my car there for the day... that day I received a call from the garage around lunchtime and the head mechanic stated that there were a few problems with my car to pass the inspection. The totally unexpected list problems were explained and I was told the cost of repairs would amount to $2,400... then I was told that they could do after-market parts that would bring the cost down to a "bargain" of $1,750... I was beginning to feel a bit ripped off so I picked up my car that evening. The following day I bought my car to my usual mechanic in the inner west (yes, I bought it to S&I for convenience as I live in the Waverley area) and he passed the car inspection on the spot straight off.
  
  I've heard from others recently about similar review stories... they seem to try and make a quick buck and are quite ruthless about it with their rip off style approach.
  
  I wish I got proper written report or some form of evidence/proof on the day to have raised the whole issue with Fair Trading.
  
  I wouldn't recommend this place and will obviously never go there again!
